Deborah Curtis, LICSW
About Deborah:
The focus of my practice is to help couples live a more fulfilling and loving life together. I am passionate about working with couples to make stronger and better relationships.
Professionally, I’m trained in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT), a therapy based in the work on Dr. Sue Johnson. Personally, I have been married for over 30 years and understand the challenges and difficulties that couples face today.
Couples come to therapy to get unstuck from patterns of disconnection, hurt and distress. My goal is to help you identify the negative cycles you get stuck in and assist you to learn new ways to connect. By teaching you how to use new relational tools, we can enable you to change old patterns that have led to frustration and disconnection. EFT is based on attachment theory. Attachment to close significant others is seen as an innate and primary motivating force in human beings across the life span. EFT is a collaborative, supportive approach that has been validated by scientific research to be the most effective couples therapy method available today.
